Summary:
The User accessing the SCIDIP-ES data is able to retrieve the data itself and all the additional information needed to understand, analyse and process it.
Overview:
The User accessing the SCIDIP-ES data is able to retrieve the data itself and all the additional information needed to understand, analyse and process it.
Details:
Step 1: Use GENESI-DEC
The user logs in to GENESI-DEC. A structured set of keywords should have been created to fully describe the dataset content and to make it searchable by ad hoc engines.
Step 2: User searches
The user makes a search for a SCIDIP-ES preserved dataset.
Step 3: Choose a single dataset
The SCIDIP-ES dataset list is visualized on the GENESI-DEC results interface. The user is then able to select a single SCIDIP-ES product from the list.
Step 4: Examine the single product which contains
The link to physical data to be downloaded, using the Storage Service.
All Representation Information needed by the specific user to understand the data (e.g. information about the mission, the sensor, etc.), implemented for example with a “Show more information” button. RepInfo could be used in many ways, including being used in the user’s applications or visualized in the form of a table, a graph or simply as a list of links to external resources.
If gaps are found the data manager is informed that new RepInfo must be created and inserted in the RepInfo Registry Service.
Step 5:Explore the dataset
The user is now able to explore the dataset and gain access to related datasets, using the Finding Aids Toolkit and RepInfo Registry Service.
